Open House/Ice Cream Social at our new location (July 11, 1-3pm)
Come to our annual ice cream social at our new location! 1601 North Street SE, Olympia, Washington. The event starts at 1pm and runs until 3pm. Teachers and parent staff will be available to answer questions.
A new home for Olympia Community School!
For the 2009-10 school year, we will open our doors in a larger and more central location, at North and Henderson, across from Olympia High School. We will have the room to expand our enrollment as we provide a 2-year kindergarten (full and half-day; ages 4-6) through 5th grade alternative school located in the heart of South Puget Sound. While we first opened near the Capitol Campus in 1973, we have been located at the Geoduck House on the Evergreen State College Campus for the last 20 years. We'll miss the beach, but we are excited about the central location, the room to expand our services, and will continue building our vision for a permanent location for our 35-year-old educational community committed to environmental literacy and social responsibility.
Enrolling for 2 year kindergarten (Ages 4-6)
As part of expanding into a new location we are now enrolling for a 2 year Kindergarten to provide a full day program for children aged 4 to 6. All the wonderful community of OCS, but more play.
Expanded and central location being developed for the 2009-10 school year (3/25)
We are finalizing arrangements to move to a new site for our 2009-10 school year that will give us room to increase enrollement in our K-5 program, as well as to explore an early childhood program.
OCS now enrolling k-5 for 2009-10 year (1/15)
OCS is expanding to provide a full elementary education program, from Kindergarden through 5th grade. After consulting with parents new and old, The Board felt expanding OCS to provide compelte elementary education would better serve the Olympia Alternative Education Community.
