Current Giving Initiatives Tuition alone does not cover the costs of the outstanding education children receive at OCS. We offer two ways to support educational choice at Olympia Community School. Many find Direct Student Support - where your gift underwrites tuition for a student currently enrolled at OCS - to be the most personally rewarding. A second choice is to make an Unrestricted Gift. An Unrestricted Gift is used where it's needed most. No matter how you choose to give, your gift to OCS may be tax-deductible (consult your tax adviser for details). Gift of Direct Student Support Each year, OCS offers reduced tuition to three families who cannot afford the cost of full tuition. During some years, the demand for reduced tuition, which is granted on the basis of need, is higher. Our reduced tuition program helps to ensure that any child who would thrive at OCS could attend the school regardless of their financial resources. Your gift of Direct Student Support will go to underwrite the costs of the reduced tuition program. Our teachers are the only paid staff at OCS. However, some parents choose to take on the most important administrative roles at the school. Some of those jobs require a great deal of personal time and expertise and a few of those positions result in tuition reductions. In any year where our gifts of Direct Student Support fully fund our reduced tuition program, any additional gifts of Direct Student Support will next go to fund our important parent jobs.
