Enrollment

OCS is currently enrolling for the 2010-11 school year. We have a 5 step process for enrollment that includes a tour, a written application, and an interview, prior to providing a tuition deposit to hold your place. Each year we offer a limited number of reduced tuition scholarships in addition to tuition reduction opportunities for parent staff positions.

1. Arrange a school tour

OCS believes that a visit to the school will provide a better understanding of how our philosophy matches your goals for educating your child. To arrange a tour, contact the Enrollment Coordinator by calling (360) 866-8047 or by email.

2. The written application

Our application form provides you an opportunity to tell us about your child, your hopes for your child’s education, and your interest in OCS. Complete all portions of the Admission Application and submit it along with the non-refundable Application Fee made payable to "Olympia Community School." You may bring your application with you to your tour. The Application Fee is $20.00 if paid within ten days of the school tour and $25.00 thereafter.

3. Child's visit to school

Incoming Kindergarteners are invited to participate in a playdate with other prospective kindergarteners and our teacher. Older students have the opportunity to participate in classes during part or all of a school day.

4. The admissions interview

Once you have submitted your application, the Enrollment Committee will request an interview with you to discuss the goals of both your family and those of OCS. This interview offers you an opportunity to acquire additional information and to share particular goals and concerns you may have about your child. Following the interview you will be told the date by which we expect to notify applicants of admissions decisions.

5. Reserve your place

Student space is offered on a first come first serve basis following completion of enrollment and the offer of a space at Olympia Community School. We do not exceed 14 students per class. The first tuition payment is due the first weekday in June. Spaces that remain unpaid will be offered to children on our waiting list. After application, all costs of attending OCS are rolled into a single tuition and fees payment plan described on our current tuition schedule.

Non-discrimination

The Olympia Community School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs.
